any of you know what this means?



it's for real. nowadays they really write on you which body part you are having surgery on. in my case - my leg said "yes". yep, that's right folks. i had a scope done yesterday on my knee. turns out that an old injury was the problem all along and it just now decided to rear its ugly head and make my life difficult.

moral of the story: listen to your body and it'll tell you when it's not happy with you anymore.

if any of you are bored and want to watch a movie - come on over. or - maybe i'll just take another nap now.

babysitting, birthdays, and boating

we got to babysit Peanut last week. it was so much fun!!!! she is such an adorable little tike!!!



some of my cute young women (and one young man) made me this leaning tower of cupcakes for my birthday. they are so awesome! and the cupcakes were so yummy!!!



Our trip to San Francisco:

oh! did you blink? yep, you must have missed the trip details then.
oh - nope - forgot - we didn't go. this is the one and only picture from our short-lived trip. the whole thing last about 5 mintues - and the 7 hours of packing, doing laudry, re-packing, checking off lists, getting the house ready for use to be gone for a week, etc.
it was a nice thought. should have been a nice trip. we didn't even make it out of the driveway. i threw out my knee again.
end of story.

the big 3-Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh

well, it came and went.
the big 3-0hhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
and it was FANTASTIC!!!
my hubby-bubby is the BEST. he took me boating all day long on saturday with family and friends. and it was so fun. the day was perfect - perfect water, perfect sun, perfect friends and family, perfect husband.


this is right after we got on the lake - nice and relaxed. nothing better than waking up on the water.


brigette and justin came with their boys and brought their boat, too. the boys jumped on with us and we took carter on a wake board ride.


keyan was the official flag boy. the best part was when isaac was getting ready to go out to ski. he was on the swim deck at the back of the boat getting all suited up and keyan ran from the front of the boat all the way to the back and pushed isaac in the water. it was priceless!!!


later we were cruisin' along the water at a nice speed and isaac's hat flew off in the water. thank goodness it didn't sink and we were able to go back and get it. kaden was the lone volunteer to jump in to retrieve it.

and then pappa earl was kind enough to drench those of us sitting in the front of the boat with a 15 foot tidal wave of lake water. it was so funny!!!! look at all the water on the floor. usually the water is supposed to be OUTSIDE of the boat.

on my official birthday we celebrated with my family and isaac's family. everyone was so great to come and celebrate with us.

my sister-dear-in-lawish Lettie sent me this tricky candle. it was in the shape of a flower........
(the cake is really o.k. the red smears were supposed to be mixed in more with the icing, but i just kind of gave up on the decorating part)


....which when it was lighted - notice the large flame by isaac's hand -


.............kind of had a fireworks look to it and then the flower popped open and the song happy birthday started playing while the flower moved in a circle. IT WAS SO COOL!!! we let it burn down quite a ways because we were all transfixed with it.

all in all it was a WONDERFUL birthday and very memorable. thanks everyone for thinking of me, calling or texting to send me birthday wishes and for being such awesome friends and family!!!

July is a blur.....

Well, July is one of my favorite times of the year. you get to celebrate 2 holidays, have lots of parties, and the weather is great.

on the 4th we went to the Granite community parade - come on - it's a tradition!

we went to the breakfast but didn't partake of the tasty meal. this is where most of the socializing with old friends takes place


i decorated my parent's tandom bike so isaac and i could ride it in the parade. it was awesome! i got to throw candy to the kids - but ran out before we were done. :(


our family had lunch together back at my parent's house after the parade and carnival. dianne had gotten her face painted at the carnival after the parade and wanted to paint our faces, too.

then we had my mom's family reunion. our family was in charge of the planning this year and we hope everyone had fun.


we cooked up a big breakfast at a local park.


Kye was so funny - he kept taking all of the water bottles out of the bucket and lining them up on the cement

so...that's july so far. except - my cousin haley gave birth to her twins the day after the family reuion. how exciting is that?!@?!?
