Happy 11th!

Today is Carter's 11th birthday.
he is growing like a weed. a very tall weed.

there is just something fun about posting funny pictures of people on my blog. i love it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE #1 COMISH BYU FAN!

Life also goes on.
zane is recovering slowly but surely from his shoulder surgery. he is still in a lot of pain and can't sleep very well with his shoulder brace thing he has to wear 24/7.

Lori hasn't had any more contractions (that i've heard of) and is actually starting to look like she's pregnant. i can't WAIT for Peanut to get here!!!

Dianne & Chase moved back from California last week and i can't wait to see them. and i'm SO glad they are back in town and much, much closer to us.

Other than that....so are the days of our lives.

a story from our lives -

the following story will show how exciting our lives are. oh - and what nerds we are, too.

the other night i was noticing how pretty our toilet paper was (please see the disclaimer below indicated by the ***) and i said to isaac, "have you ever noticed how pretty our toilet paper is? it has flowers all over it and it's nice". to which he VERY QUICKLY responded "well, yeah - that's why it's called Petal Soft".

now - this is the point where i bust up laughing for 5 minutes because i was SHOCKED that my husband knew the name brand of the toilet paper and that he could recall it off the top of his head so quickly. and the tone that he used when responding to me was like - duh - you don't know this tidbit of information???

and just because i know you now care about what our toilet paper looks like, i've included a picture - just so you can also enjoy how pretty it is.

have a good day. :)

***at this point in time - i'm apologizing for sharing this story with you - but at the time - it was hilarious. and i just wanted you to know that isaac and i never have a dull moment when we are together. we are just keepin' it real.

life keeps going..........

this last weekend was an exciting one. just goes to show that life keeps going for everyone all the time.

on friday i took the day off of work and isaac and i spent it doing nothing - and it was awesome!! we went to a matinee, went out to lunch at a dive, went window shopping, took a nap, went to the condo for the night and watched another movie.
but during our fun day - things were happening to everyone else. zane had shoulder surgery and lori started having contractions. my mom was a busy lady on friday worrying about her kids.

on saturday we went to the outlet malls in p.c. and the power went out in all the stores so that ended our shopping spree earlier than i would have liked - but i'm sure isaac was relieved.

on sunday we had a picnic with the Tamales and celebrated Niki's birthday, too, and got to see Critter again. by the way - critter is not his real name, but it might as well be, because we all call him Critter.

all in all - it was a great weekend and we got to relax and have fun together. but alas, monday morning always comes and we have to get back into the routine.

the first of many babies -

well, it being the year of the baby, let's start off the festivities by introducing the newest member of 2009 - Critter.

Isaac's sister Niki gave birth on tuesday afternoon to this little guy.

Uncle Isaac was one of the first to hold him - not even 5 minutes after he was born. Don't worry - the tired expression isaac has on his face is because he was rocking Critter to sleep for so long that he rocked himself to sleep.
just kidding. the camera didn't take the picture fast enough so he looks drunk.

Happy Easter Weekend!

well, we had a pretty terrific weekend with the holiday.
i got to dye easter eggs with my niece and nephews, have 2 egg hunts, 2 sunday dinners, and one egg roll.

Isaac and i came home from church and the Easter bunny had come to our house!!! the Easter bunny left eggs all over the apartment and even some Easter baskets for us.

The Easter bunny even knew that Isaac needed socks. how lucky is he?!?

The loot
isaac's eggs are on the left, mine are on the right. guess i'm just better at finding Easter eggs. :)

it's amazing! the Easter bunny knew i needed socks, too!!!

Here are our Easter eggs getting ready for the egg roll. we kind of forgot that they were boiling and they were in there for awhile.

Look how colorful we are! i dressed up in my tie-dyed shirt for the occassion. o.k not really - i just love wearing that shirt.

After we finished dying our eggs, we went to my parent's house for Easter dinner #1

This is Lori at 8 months.

My cousin Haley and her husband Jason came for dinner, too. Kinda looks like Dianne and Haley were trying to get out of the camera's way. didn't work.

After dinner at my parent's, we went to isaac's grandparent's house for dinner #2 and the infamous egg roll. even though isaac and i dated for a long time, this was my first egg roll. i had heard about this event for years and couldn't wait to see what actually happened. funny thing - it's just what its name implies - and egg roll.
two people pick an egg they think is going to win, kneel down, count to three and then roll their eggs at each other. the one that cracks loses and the winner goes on to battle more people until their egg finally cracks.

here i'm going up against Uncle John. bad news.

before we left our house isaac kept telling me we needed a sharpie but i couldn't figure out why. when we got to the egg roll i saw that everyone had named their eggs - it made perfect sense. This is one that isaac's dad had - the "Wendy Spoiler". huh. didn't know i was so loved. :)

Isaac and Dallin squaring off

Isaac's dad and Uncle John

this is just SOME of the eggs from the night. all in all, there were probably around 11 or 12 dozen eggs that fell victim to the egg roll. but the best part is - their family loves deviled eggs - so once they were cracked they took them into the kitchen and made deviled eggs.

Grandpa Grant and Isaac's dad

these are our eggs. everyone guarded their eggs really carefully and wouldn't let anyone else touch them.

Isaac's dad and i. he kept accusing me of cheating - which i didn't - until the very end. we tried to be sneaky and use a wooden egg - but they caught me.

but alas, our cheating didn't work and the groscosts' won for the second year in a row.

my little friend......

so this week at work i was informed that i have a worm on my computer.

huh. kind of a weird thought if you think about it.
so the IT guys gave me a new hard drive and it's been real fun trying to set up my computer how i like it.

and i especially enjoyed the lecture that i got for having so many pics and music files on my computer. the music was compliments of the girl that worked here before i did. but the IT guy made sure to say to me, "this is your work computer, not your personal one, you know". no, really? cause some days i feel like i live here.
might as well be comfortable while i'm here. back off, dude.

all right.
this is why i haven't posted anything in a while - nothing has happened.
i mean, stuff has happened, but not anything that you would find exciting.

so - life goes on, you know?

we bought a killer entryway table the other night when we stumbled across it on accident. it's beautiful. made of indian wood - whatever that is.
and.....? another semester is almost over - only 2 more classes. YAY!!!

let's see....Whitney & Jordan found out they are having a baby girl. Lori is still growing, slowly, with her baby. remember it's the year of the baby? well, it seems like every week i find out someone else is pregnant. so there are going to be lots of tikes running around soon. anyone else want to announce a pregnancy?
no, i am not announcing anything, silly.
