i got to dye easter eggs with my niece and nephews, have 2 egg hunts, 2 sunday dinners, and one egg roll.
Isaac and i came home from church and the Easter bunny had come to our house!!! the Easter bunny left eggs all over the apartment and even some Easter baskets for us.
The Easter bunny even knew that Isaac needed socks. how lucky is he?!?
The loot
isaac's eggs are on the left, mine are on the right. guess i'm just better at finding Easter eggs. :)
it's amazing! the Easter bunny knew i needed socks, too!!!
Here are our Easter eggs getting ready for the egg roll. we kind of forgot that they were boiling and they were in there for awhile.
Look how colorful we are! i dressed up in my tie-dyed shirt for the occassion. o.k not really - i just love wearing that shirt.
After we finished dying our eggs, we went to my parent's house for Easter dinner #1
This is Lori at 8 months.
My cousin Haley and her husband Jason came for dinner, too. Kinda looks like Dianne and Haley were trying to get out of the camera's way. didn't work.
After dinner at my parent's, we went to isaac's grandparent's house for dinner #2 and the infamous egg roll. even though isaac and i dated for a long time, this was my first egg roll. i had heard about this event for years and couldn't wait to see what actually happened. funny thing - it's just what its name implies - and egg roll.
two people pick an egg they think is going to win, kneel down, count to three and then roll their eggs at each other. the one that cracks loses and the winner goes on to battle more people until their egg finally cracks.
here i'm going up against Uncle John. bad news.
before we left our house isaac kept telling me we needed a sharpie but i couldn't figure out why. when we got to the egg roll i saw that everyone had named their eggs - it made perfect sense. This is one that isaac's dad had - the "Wendy Spoiler". huh. didn't know i was so loved. :)
Isaac and Dallin squaring off
Isaac's dad and Uncle John
this is just SOME of the eggs from the night. all in all, there were probably around 11 or 12 dozen eggs that fell victim to the egg roll. but the best part is - their family loves deviled eggs - so once they were cracked they took them into the kitchen and made deviled eggs.
Grandpa Grant and Isaac's dad
these are our eggs. everyone guarded their eggs really carefully and wouldn't let anyone else touch them.
Isaac's dad and i. he kept accusing me of cheating - which i didn't - until the very end. we tried to be sneaky and use a wooden egg - but they caught me.
but alas, our cheating didn't work and the groscosts' won for the second year in a row.

How is your sister so little at 8 months?? Life just isn't fair, I suppose. Love the Easter roll! Sounds like a ton of fun!
Nothin' says Easter like a new pair of socks:) Looks like you had a pretty good time, except for those darn Groscosts! (j/k)
P.S. That is the smallest 8 month pregnant belly I think I have ever seen!
I love the egg roll! Maybe we'll have to start a tradition like that at our house!
You know it really wasn't fair to have Haley--expecting twins--and Lori--who barely looks pregnant at 8 months--in the same room!
The egg roll looks like a lot of fun. we may have to try it too next year.
