train angst

so - remember a couple of weeks ago when we took the chubbers to see a train? well, we tried again - but this time with a much more familiar "face". and how did it go, you ask?

well, i'll let this picture speak for itself.
i'm just glad we didn't spend a FORTUNE to actually try riding the train. we just went and looked at the train - which turned out to be a better idea. again - we got there, he was SOOOOOOO excited to see the train. we got up close - he freaked out. when we went to leave - he got mad we were leaving. it's so weird. he LOVES trains - but not in real life, I guess.

on another note - here is a pic I took of the Second One today.
he is so freaking adorable. he laughs and is ticklish. he is so fun.

and I was lucky to get this pic. I had left my camera on the counter and a few minutes later I caught this - the chubbers actually acknowledging his little brother. this has happened I think twice now since the Second One was born.
it was an instant melt-my-heart-moment.
motherhood is awesome.

and - just for a fun trivia question - notice anything wrong with this picture? (you can click on the picture to make it bigger so you can see what i'm getting at)
no - it wouldn't be the bucket in the bath.
no - it's not the bottle of soap in the bath, either.
yep - it's the 2 towels in the bath.
I'm not sure why - but the chubbers gets the biggest kick out of putting towels in the tub.
this is not the first time this has happened.

we drove two hours for a gift shop -

just in case you're wondering what this post is about - it's about the 2 hour drive we took to visit a national historic site's gift shop.

i'm serious.

because - when you're obsessed with trains and your parents take you to go see some real live trains because they think you'd like it - well, think again, parents!
seeing trains up close like that is NOT what you want to spend your time doing - you just want to check out the goods in the gift shop where its nice and safe.

so take that parents!

next time you have a brilliant idea like that - just remember this road trip we took.
oh - and remember - next time - hurry and take some pictures before I freak out and won't pose for the camera. cause then all you'll end up with are pictures like the ones below. thank goodness mom got at least a couple of pictures so she could post on her blog about this whole experience.

and here's a shout-out to the nice park rangers who let us hang out in the gift shop for like a hour while dad watched the presentation. at least one of us learned something from this whole thing.
