we drove two hours for a gift shop -

just in case you're wondering what this post is about - it's about the 2 hour drive we took to visit a national historic site's gift shop.

i'm serious.

because - when you're obsessed with trains and your parents take you to go see some real live trains because they think you'd like it - well, think again, parents!
seeing trains up close like that is NOT what you want to spend your time doing - you just want to check out the goods in the gift shop where its nice and safe.

so take that parents!

next time you have a brilliant idea like that - just remember this road trip we took.
oh - and remember - next time - hurry and take some pictures before I freak out and won't pose for the camera. cause then all you'll end up with are pictures like the ones below. thank goodness mom got at least a couple of pictures so she could post on her blog about this whole experience.

and here's a shout-out to the nice park rangers who let us hang out in the gift shop for like a hour while dad watched the presentation. at least one of us learned something from this whole thing.

Oh, that is so sad...and so funny. At least he liked the gift shop!
