my new best friend.

don't be jealous.
he is such a hunk.
of metal.
but oh-so awesome.
i wanted to get a juicer for a long time. you see, we grew up with one - but i only remember seeing my mom use it a few times. this juicer has changed our lives. just ask the hubbers - he had a FANTASTIC juice this morning. it was: carrots, green apples, cranberries, pineapple.....and a cucumber!
i thought i was being creative with that. but you know what one ingredient killed the rest of them. you'll never guess. so i'll tell you - the cranberries. they just overwhelmed everything else. but the cucumber left our whole house smelling fresh and clean and wonderful.
today is day #3 of juicing. i think the first day was the best - carrots, apples, pineapple and limes. yummy. there is nothing like fresh limes. so - if you want to feel fresh and invigorated - come over and i'll juice something up for you.

this weekend was full of a lot of "firsts"

the chubbers went swimming for the first time.

i think he thought it was just a big bathtub.
but i want him to be used to the water and like it - so we'll go lots more times.

then we cooked our first turkey on our own.

and i must say - it turned out great. our house smelled like thanksgiving dinner. the hubbers wanted turkey dinner sandwiches (a family secret recipe, i promise) so we cooked up a big turkey and stuffing and potatoes. our kitchen was a mess for days.


and then we finished the "firsts" off by giving the chubbers his first taste of chocolate ice cream. well, one of his parents did this. the other sat by, unnoticing until SHE turned her head to see why the two boys were so quiet and i was met with this little face staring back at me.
next life lesson: teaching the chubbers how to hide the evidence.
