this last weekend we had a family reunion and IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! we only have a reunion every other year, but it is such a blast. i remember having a few reunions when we were kids, mostly with very distant relatives, but our family just started them up again 6 years ago. and i look forward to them SO much. we just sit and talk and visit and it's so nice to just have a chance to talk and be together and see all the young kids and remember back to when we were their ages.
some of my family lives out of state (we won't point fingers, Schillings) and recently another one of my aunt and uncles moved out of the area, too. so it was the perfect time to all get together and see each other's faces again.
AND - we have the most awesome grandparents ever! when we do get together for these reunions, i wish they could be here, but they both passed away many moons ago. i know they are there with us in Spirit and look down at all us silly people, but i'm sure they're happy we're spending time together.
as i get older, i can't help but feel so much pride for the family / ancestors that i have. i am proud of my name, and that's why i kept my maiden name as part of my name when i got married. i want people to always know where i came from and the great examples i had before me.
anyways. enough of my ramblings.
bottom line: I AM PROUD OF MY FAMILY and i love them a whole heap of a lot.
here's a pic of the chubbers and his aunt and uncle at the reunion. this is the only picture i took - so i hope someone will share some of theirs with me.
long live our wonderful poses for the camera.
