we are now a collecting family. we collect small toys from children's meals served at local restaurants. don't be jealous that we got all 16 smurfs. and don't be jealous of the all the hamburgers and fries that we had to eat to collect these little treasures.
i couldn't even get a picture of all of them, sitting peacefully, before the chubbers had to attack. good thing they are durable and will survive the beating the chubbers gives them each time he reaches for one.
last night we took the chubbers to his first baseball game. i don't think he even knew what was going on. except he did pick up on the annoying guy nearby that kept yelling very loudly. weird what a couple of beers can do to your hearing. just takes it right away. good thing the rest of us are now deaf from your yelling!
but i digress.
we took the chubbers to a game and guess what! one of our friends we were with got a foul ball for the chubbers! it was so fun! he loved it. and it's even better that it's a hard ball and could break things with it. we'll just put it up on a shelf as a collector's item for later on in his life. :)

Just FYI, many of the fast food restaurants offer toddler toys. I don't know if it's still true, but McDonalds used to offer the cutest Fisher Price toys. I still have lots of them because they were so cool! (I must admit--the Smurfs are pretty cool, too.)
Super cute and I love that you didn't know you could just buy the toys from McDonald's without having to eat the hamburgers until the end of your collection...It gave me a good giggle. Love ya Wendy!
