this past weekend my family had our first "Schulze, Carter, Comish, Parker family reunion". it was so much fun! we all went to my parent's house and spent the night friday night and saturday day all together. it was so fun to spend that much uninterrupted time with my family.

friday night we had dinner and watched a movie outside that was projected onto a sheet on the fence. then some of us slept outside, even though it was really windy out there.

saturday morning we had a big breakfast, had a devotional that each of us shared a lesson from the Book of Mormon, and sang songs. then the girls went to tie a quilt and the boys went to set up the monkey bridge in the backyard. then we had lunch, watched the Olympics for a minute and then had a treasure hunt. at the end of the hunt the kids found a bucket of water balloons so we started to play a nice game of catch, but it quickly turned into a big 'ol water fight. it was so much fun!
then the time came to end so we all cleaned up and everyone went home. the adults joined up later at the temple with my mom's side of the family for our Nielson family temple night. it was such a great weekend full of family fun. i can't wait until next year's festivities.

the men set up the monkey bridge in the backyard while the women tied a quilt. this is basically a big jungle gym for the kids.



brigette and justin's tent in the backyard. they actually slept out there with their kids instead of inside in a nice comfy bed. ahh....isn't being a parent fun?



the women were banished, i mean, had the privilege, of tying a quilt while the men set up the monkey bridge.



grandma gave the kids those candy necklaces. this is what was left of kye's. he hasn't quite gotten the concept of biting them and eating both pieces. he's not quick enough to see the other piece break off and fall to the floor. cute kid.


i guess Chase got bored while the men were putting up the monkey bridge so he went exploring and found this snake in grandma's garden.

i'm begging now - please, someone challenge my mother to a hula hoop contest. she could do this for hours. me? nope, i wasn't blessed with the necessary hip talent to be able to do it.



in case you can't tell from this pic, this is the 'ol throw the balloon to your partner, move back one step and see how far you can throw it to each other before you drop it. if you drop it, you have to get a new balloon and start over. harmless enough, right? wrong.

right after i dumped a bucket of water on zane - i was trying to persuade the kids not to get me with their balloons.



yes, i know that zane wins every water fight that he is in, but i couldn't resist dumping a bucket of water on him. the payback he gave me was worth it.



no, i did not pee my pants. zane was kind enough to have perfect aim when he threw his last water balloon at me. quite a feeling having wet shorts in that general area. whew, breezy. look at the face lori is making. for some weird reason she thought she was going to be exempt from the water fight because she got the water balloons ready for everyone. it was hilarious when she got wet. ever heard the phrase "madder than a wet hen?" yep, that's lori.
