last year when we went to the cabin we discovered that the furnace had exploded so we didn't have any heat besides what came out of the fireplace or the floor board heaters that ran on electricity. it was so nice this year to have heat and be warm! we could actually wear just a t-shirt and be comfortable. last year - not so much. i think i had every article of clothing on, sitting by the fireplace, drinking hot liquids - and was still cold.

the other family cabin - anyone remember the death march of 2007? yep, this is it. notice how half of the cabin is buried in snow? yep - that's what it was like when we made the death march to it that frightful night.

this is probably where the hubby-bubby went and raced his snow mobile, too - but you'll notice there isn't a picture to go along with it. that's either because he didn't want evidence or he was a good husband and didn't do it. you decide.
