birthdays aren't always as much fun as this one was - but this one will definitely go down in the books. i took the day off of work so i could be with my kiddos and it was nice. i even got a nap! that night we decided to go to the drive in movies and see a flick.
who knew that this little one would want to watch the show from INSIDE the car.
but...we coaxed him out with a slurpee and he really enjoyed himself - once he realized he could bounce on the air mattress like a trampoline.
we also celebrated our first anniversary of being homeowners. and what better way to do that - than to buy our first tree! it's awesome. and yes, it is lonely in an otherwise tree-less yard. time will hopefully change that.
now - the really exciting part of my weekend.....was not laying sod at zane and bri's new house. although it was fun to go help them to beautify their yard and get a tan while doing it, too. but the really fun part was still to come. we got together with the fam last night to celebrate 5, yes - 5, birthdays. and i hate to tell you, but i got the best present of the night. if you click on this picture below you can read what the card says -
let me explain - we are now dog owners!!!!!
our little puppy is a blue heeler lab mix. and he's fun. i can't wait to go home and see him and play with him. its really funny - i have torn feelings between holdig and playing with him and holding and playing with my second child. they both need me. :)
thank you everyone for the awesome birthday wishes - i really do appreciate you all being a part of my life. i hope you all have an awesome birthday this year like i did. but maybe not all of you need a dog. just me.
